High-resolution restrospective seasonal forecasts of monthly snow water equivalent and river discharge over the Po river basin (SPHERE-SFC-Hydro)
General Description
The SPHERE-SFC-Hydro dataset consists of km-resolution retrospective seasonal forecasts of monthly mean snow water equivalent, snow melt and river discharge over the Po river basin (Italy). The dataset has been produced using Copernicus Seasonal Forecast Systems meteorological forcings, statisical and stochastic downscaling tools, and snow and hydrological models. SPHERE-SFC-Hydro dataset covers the hindcast period 1993-2016. The retrospective forecasts are initialized on two starting dates, November 1st and May 1st, and each forecast has lead time is up to 6 months.
Seasonal forecast systems
This dataset is generated using meteorological forcings from one of the Copernicus seasonal forecast systems, namely the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Seasonal Forecasting System (ECMWFS51).
